Ton bags, also known as tonne bags or bulk bags, are a commonly used packaging material in modern logistics. Thanks to their lightweight design, they offer significant convenience during transportation, and their applications have now extended beyond domestic markets, playing an increasingly prominent role in international logistics and shipping.

So, what is the structure of a ton bag? The packaging material for ton bags is typically woven from standard woven fabric—commonly referred to as 10×10 low‑denier flat yarn. During production, a ton bag is divided into three main components: the side panels, the top and bottom panels, and the inlet/outlet spout tube. A ton bag can hold 1 to 2 tons of goods, which places two key demands on the fabric: wide width and high strength and durability. Currently, the most common material used for ton bags is 14×14 high‑denier flat yarn.

In addition, during transportation, ton bags are typically sewn with top and bottom seams to facilitate stacking, with the inlet and outlet openings concealed. However, it should be noted that the bottom fabric, which bears significant stress, is woven using high‑denier flat yarns in a 14×14 weave, while the top fabric may use standard woven material.

However, since the top and bottom panels are of uniform size, for manufacturing convenience and to streamline the production process, most manufacturers use 14×14 high‑denier flat filaments to weave both the top and bottom. Unlike other products, ton bags are designed for repeated use, and their ease of handling during transportation further encourages an increasing number of industries to adopt them for packaging.
