In the course of future development, bulk bags are gradually evolving toward greater environmental sustainability and are becoming reusable. In the future, packaging bags will be designed for repeated use and easy disassembly, capable of naturally degrading under sunlight without polluting our environment. This is the level of environmental performance that plastic bags should strive to achieve going forward.


With the rapid growth of daytime trade and international logistics, both domestic and international markets have undergone profound changes. FIBC (flexible intermediate bulk containers) are increasingly adopted by businesses and industries due to their large capacity, ease of handling, and high efficiency. Demand for FIBCs is exceptionally strong, and their applications are expanding into virtually every sector of society, including food, chemicals, and more. Production methods and equipment are highly diversified, while domestic and international manufacturers have experienced robust, rapid growth. Companies are scaling up, adopting ever‑more advanced technologies, and moving toward large‑scale, automated bag production. Plastic packaging firms have promptly adjusted their strategic priorities, placing a strong emphasis on product quality to deliver superior performance and customer satisfaction. Mass production helps reduce costs and meet the rising demands of the market. During this period, alongside the introduction of cutting‑edge foreign machinery, we have also assimilated and adapted advanced foreign technologies, tailoring them to our specific circumstances to develop a comprehensive, homegrown technical framework. As a result, China’s plastics industry has achieved significant progress: key equipment such as extruders and circular weaving machines can now be domestically produced, with quality fully comparable to international standards. Moreover, certain proprietary technologies have filled critical domestic gaps, enabling production processes to keep pace with evolving market needs. Meanwhile, the country’s mold‑making sector continues to grow, giving rise to a number of leading enterprises in this field.


There is strong demand for bulk bags in both domestic and international markets, yet the majority of our exports are still directed toward South Korea and Japan. Even after joining relevant trade agreements, access to the European and American markets has not significantly expanded, and our share in those regions remains unchanged. During this period, despite substantial progress, we continue to rely on ancillary production processes—replicating others’ equipment and manufacturing lower‑grade ton bags. In contrast, Japan has been producing waterproof bags for ten years and pallet‑wrap bags for seven to eight years, while we remain stuck at the rudimentary stages of cutting and sewing. To produce waterproof envelopes, we must import a wide array of specialized machinery. From the perspective of European and American markets, consumers not only expect packaging to offer convenient handling, secure storage, dust resistance, and water impermeability, but also demand breathability, mold resistance, UV protection, fire safety, and compliance with environmental regulations. Meeting these multifaceted requirements necessitates that companies invest in state‑of‑the‑art specialized equipment and comprehensive testing facilities.


From the perspective of international market share, China’s products are primarily concentrated in low‑end, low‑value‑added markets, where competition is intense among domestic players. Other countries such as Indonesia, India, and Turkey have already withdrawn from this tier of product competition and are gradually shifting to the production of higher‑grade bulk bags. Compared with our province, they also exhibit significant differences and still fall short of fully meeting the requirements of markets in Europe and North America.
