  1. First, apply the primer. When using polypropylene anti-corrosion tape, be sure to use the matching primer. Before applying, stir the primer thoroughly until uniform. After application, you can begin wrapping the tape after approximately 10 minutes.

  2. Surface Preparation: Surface preparation primarily involves removing rust, weld spatter, and other contaminants from the tape. During application, it is essential to ensure that the polypropylene anti-corrosion tape remains clean and dry.

  3. Backfilling of the Trench: As is well known, after application of polypropylene anti-corrosion tape, a quality inspection is performed; only upon passing this inspection may backfilling proceed. During trench backfilling, care must be taken to ensure the integrity of the tape.

  When applying polypropylene anti-corrosion tape, it is essential to select an appropriate tape width in strict accordance with the specified requirements. Based on the overlap criteria for the primer‑coated surface, apply the tape using a spiral wrapping technique, ensuring that the winding direction aligns with the weld seam. Maintain consistent tension across the polypropylene tape to ensure even pressure, keep the layers parallel, and prevent twisting or wrinkling, thereby achieving tight contact between the tape and the pipe surface. At the joints where the two ends of the tape meet, provide an overlap of at least 100 mm. If necessary, apply a primer to the end of the preceding anti-corrosion layer. Use a smooth wooden tool to press the end firmly into place, preventing any lifting. To minimize bubble formation in high‑temperature environments and areas with significant temperature fluctuations, cover and shade the wrapped section for 24 hours after completion.

Based on the requirement that the tape width must overlap the primed surface, apply the tape using a spiral wrapping technique, ensuring that the winding direction aligns with the weld seam. Maintain consistent tension throughout the wrapping process to ensure even pressure, keep the layers parallel, and prevent twisting or wrinkling, thereby achieving tight contact between the tape and the pipe surface.

  The joint between the two ends of the polypropylene anti-corrosion tape shall have an overlap of at least 100 mm. If necessary, apply a primer to the surface at the end of the preceding anti-corrosion layer. At the termination point, use a smooth wooden tool to press the tape firmly into place to prevent lifting. To minimize bubble formation in high-temperature environments and areas with significant temperature fluctuations, maintain shaded conditions for 24 hours after winding is complete.
