However, as consumer demands evolved, single-purpose bags could no longer satisfy users, leading to the development of new types of packaging products.
FIBC bags are one such example, and their design must take numerous factors into account. If you’re interested in some basic design tips for FIBCs, join us as we explore the essentials. As a form of primary packaging, FIBCs ensure that goods are transported safely and intact to their destination. Accordingly, FIBC design must meet four key requirements: safety, storage integrity, ease of use, and airtight sealing.
Safety must also account for the distance of transport and the number of handling operations, with particular emphasis on the strength of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) and ton bags. During design, considerations should include packaging volume, the weight of the contents, the number of packages per unit, as well as the choice of transport mode and method.
