Characteristics of High-Strength Geotextile Tubes for Permanent Construction
1. Excellent permeability
To meet the critical requirement of exceptionally high flow rates in environmentally friendly dredging and sediment removal operations, a novel pipe‑bag base fabric has been developed, featuring a unique woven structure produced through a specialized weaving process. This design ensures that, during the filling phase, the base fabric deforms to create a three‑dimensional, highly permeable structure, maintaining a rapid water‑flow rate. As a result, it fundamentally addresses the common issues associated with conventional geotextile bags—such as clogging caused by sludge, leading to no flow or slow discharge, as well as sludge leakage—during the filling process.
2. High bag body strength
Changbian geotextile tube base fabric boasts high strength, with a maximum tensile strength of up to 200 kN/m, low elongation, and excellent toughness.
3. Excellent acid- and alkali-resistance and aging resistance
Anti-aging strength retention rate: 500 h ≥ 90%
4. High seam strength of the tubular bag
To ensure consistent sewing quality, the company has specially introduced one of the world’s most advanced six-needle, single‑step chain‑stitch sewing machines, guaranteeing a seam strength of at least 80%. The company employs highly durable, high‑tenacity sewing threads. The seam locations and thread uniformity of geotextile tube bags represent critical stress‑concentration points during the filling process; therefore, the circumferential direction of the geotextile tube bag must be sewn with a six‑thread, evenly spaced stitch pattern, with a stitch spacing no greater than 1 cm.
5. Excellent molding performance
The standard‑fabric geotube exhibits excellent forming performance, with a maximum hydraulic fill height of 3 meters.
6. Pollution-free and low-cost
It is widely used in sludge dewatering and volume reduction projects for rivers, lakes, seas, inland waterways, sewage treatment plants, and industrial and agricultural pollution.
